Gibraltar

We are currently in Gibraltar, which a local tells me is officially an autonomous British protectorate. It’s a interesting but odd place. Officially part of England (sort of) but in one store we were in they didn’t speak English – a bit like a lot of stores in London some would say. It is a duty free zone and it has huge tax perks for wealthy people and companies to move here. The main street is wall to wall duty free shops. The other streets are a labyrinth of tiny twisting one way streets (parking is a nightmare). It’s a good spot to visit but its expensive for everyday food and drink and accomodation, so I’m glad we’re not staying more than 2 nights
We did a taxi tour of The Rock (of Gibraltar) this morning. The boys both think that having Barbary apes climb on their heads was the highlight of the trip so far. We also went through limestone caves which were still pretty impressive despite having had its best bits souvenired through the years. We have just received the bill for a pretty average lunch (28 pounds/50 Euros, so that’s about $90!!!). I think I’ll lie down to recover from the shock. Cheers all
Rob

Boys I think you could convince Mam and Dad to let you take home a couple of those apes. They look great and I am sure the dogs would love them, especially down at the beece.
That was one great lunch - at that price I suspect yoou got silver service.
